SBI General raises awareness of health insurance benefits as part of new campaign

General insurance company SBI General has launched an awareness campaign aimed at raising awareness of how people can save taxes by purchasing health insurance. The campaign also highlights several other benefits of Medicare.

The campaign, titled #BahaneChhodoTaxBachao, consists of Vox Pop format videos featuring presenter Rudraksh Singh. Singh travels through big cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, and Kolkata asking people the worst excuse they have for not opting for health insurance, and then educating them about the tax benefits they can get from it. The idea is to raise awareness but in a relatable way.

The campaign, which consists of an advertising film, aims to raise awareness among the public about the importance of fitness, health and well-being in their lives …

Shefali Khalsa, head of brand and corporate communications, SBI General Insurance, said: Underinsured. In addition, there is a lack of awareness that health insurance can also help save tax under Section 80D of the Income Tax Laws of India. This was the main dossier of the new #SaveTax campaign launched by SBI General on #BahaneChhodoTaxBachao. This year we wanted to address the excuses people make and always be relatable. The campaign has a humorous tone to highlight the barriers people face in not buying or procrastinating in purchasing health insurance, “she added.

During the pandemic, there has been an increase in awareness and uptake of insurance, but there is still very little awareness of health insurance, even in metropolitan cities. This campaign aims to change that.
